Okay, either the Matron is lying about key details, or these old geezers are. Details such as the time of Gillian’s death…

I’m not sure whether the geezers being afraid for their lives means they’re more or less likely to be the liars at this point.

One little point is geezers never said they arrived in time to see all of those, they maybe just telling what three told them when matron made a fuss. matron said she arrived in there and saw what was happened however and her opinion about some areas I think is stonger than these geezers.

Here’s an idea, Gillian isn’t dead and she’s pulling strings form the shadows.

@ Greenstalker: The geezers said they were asked to be witness of something.

@ Ether101: Interesting… She’d make a nice surprise shaman… But I doubt it at this point. The consensus seems to be that Gillian is dead.

@Gallstone: When did the geezers say anything about the time of Gillian’s death? Are you thinking they’re implying that the three had her executed? Because that’s not how I read it. Even if she were already dead when the executions happened, that wouldn’t preclude Wyll-Line from being pissed on her behalf.

One thing: Melanoma may or may not have been there when Gillian was killed, but he was there at least shortly after Behrs was murdered in cold blood, and he would have seen her body.

Don’t know how these northers do things, but don’t believe they would have exile the boys the very next morning so they would have had time to arrange the burials (unless that scene with Melanoma at grave was him paying respect {in a barbariany yelling-at-the-heavens kind of way} and not him discovering it for the first time)

Regarding the title of this page: what is wrong with that? in a lot of ‘barbariany’ cultures, after the child passes the ‘adult tests’ they pick their final name (and Melanomas new name is a lot better than “She who buys things with Daddy’s credit card”)

Or… Wyll-Line saw what had happened to other “outsiders” and saw it as a slight to him and his family (who had considerable “outsider” blood introduced to it over the generations). He may have also had connections to other “outsiders” to the clan, and saw many names he considered friends among the dead.

Hmm… those might be nifty motivations to find out at some point, huh?

@Gallstone: And they said conflict arrived before them means they were not at there for the whole ordeal and they never said ‘when we arrived’ or ‘we saw’. Who knows they maybe talking about what three told them about what happened when they arrived. On the other hand Matron clearly said ‘I saw it happened’ so from what was being told (and assuming all of them were true) I say that matrons explanation of certain parts have much more reliablity than these geezers.

Butt, Matron arrived as they were murdering Behrs (but it is interesting she never gave mention of Typh being there already)

What I’m getting from all of this is that Tiffany’s father probably killed Gillian, and Tiff gutted him for it. (Which is why he blamed his mother for his excile). The three arrived at that point, the matron arrived shortly after. This scenario would also explain why the trio said the cause of the tragedy was outsiders.

Melanoma, his mother having been mistreated her entire life and killed, would probably not like it very much the rest of the outsiders were slaughterer “just because”.

Why do people keep calling him “Melanoma”? His name was Melan-Knee. Melanoma is a type of skin cancer.

Your point being, Ghost? And until Phoebe started using it (once), the only person calling him a malignant cancerous growth, was me

Guesticus: She did mention Tiff being there; she said ‘the children would have been next’ if she hadn’t started a ruckus.

No, even if she had made a ruckus, the killers would have had plenty of time to kill the brats before anyone else arrived

So, these guys say Melan-Knee killed those guys because they murdered his mother and the old woman claims he did it because they struck down his father. I am officially confused.
