Finally get rid of one of the two demons (by which I mean the kids) now the last surviving demon wants to do necromancy to bring the other demon back to life. Demons are the stupidest things alive. Someone should rid the world of them for good.

Don’t worry about out monstering a monster, just nuke the frelling thing from orbit. You may become a mass murderer who kills people instantly and slowly over time due to the development of cancer but who cares you killed a monster and probably a lot of demons.

I agree with David but also Strangely CrypticMirror, What if your Choice Was Victim or Villain? Or as Friedrich Nietzsche put it “Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?”

It’s true, I trust the book more than the medallion – but then, I’ve just met the medallion, maybe once you get past the cavernous, sepulchral voice, it’s a really nice medallion. Cytx, OTOH, is taking the first steps down Evil Villain lane. “I’ve lost the woman I love, and I hold myself vaguely responsible” is the standard starting litany.

The title of the next book is ‘To The Wild North”?? This holds promise. Tiff and Peonie out of the stifling city, back into the wilds, where Tiff is in her barbarian element. Wait, they’re always calling Tiff’s people ‘northerners’, right? Maybe we get to meet more barbarians? And Tiff has to face being a woman in the society that made her a misogynist in the first place! Yes, I look forward to this.
