Is it odd that she would use as the reason he shouldn’t get “fresh” because she has not taken a bath? What kind of barbarian cares about baths before… well, anything?

And who she talking animatedly at in panel 3? The king is in front of her, not over her shoulder.

Well… There’s probably little question in his mind now that Tiff would protect Peonie and some serious players, beyond Faden, appear to be after her for Evil schemes. Still questionable loyalty and uncontrolled temper though.

Heck, maybe we will see Tiff and Peonie seperated again with Tiff on some new adventure that probably involves Denver and Teresa. Go rid a small town of some bothersome Mingalo or something, have a row over Denver’s love and finally reveal the truth about him. Peonie will get in some sort of trouble again and the trio will return to deal with it… Well… maybe not Denver (Actually, wouldn’t Teresa possibly know about Denver after witnessing him quell the mage-fire and survive a massive lightning attack?)

There’s also the fate of that chained Rus and the Luminary’s work on Bhor to follow up on from that Ominous page sometime back. They already covered the Fractured, Boy-Mage and the Spell singer from then. Time for Crazy Grandad Mackenzie to come in and spell out the next string of circumstances that spell doom for our much loved characters.

JC: If I remember the jail scene correctly, that money is still somewhat contingent on her serving as Peonie’s protector for a while. She may be willing to throw all that away, if the alternative was to marry Uritca, but the point is, it’s still not completely hers. I think that may be what Urtica’s proposal is – that irregardless of her decision on the marriage, that she stay on as Peonie’s protector, so she’ll still get the pile of treasure. Yes, it will give him time to ‘work on her’, so to speak – although I’m still convinced that his real goal is to convince Peonie to marry and produce an heir. Not that he isn’t having fun. That sly old bastard.

Kind of disingenuous for Tiff to choose “free pauper” when she’s already got a room full of treasure from Faden and her first reward. Unless she thinks the King will take that away from her if she refuses marriage, and I think the King knows that would be Unwise.

Her breasts look silly in panel 4, though. Breasts aren’t supposed to look like spheres loosely adhered to the front of your chest that could be detached with a firm tug. Blame it on the armor, maybe.

Like the way Tiff is standing in panel 4, hands on hips, very defiant …for a woman. I’m surprised she took such a direct approach once she discovered the king’s plan. Personally, I’d have started stealing small quantities of valuables from the hoard, a few at a time, until forced to make that “all or nothing” declaration, that way, when she said “nothing”, it wouldn’t be exactly true. A couple of bags stashed in town for later retrieval could go a long way to funding a comfortable retirement.

@Hikaro, last time Tiff said she knew about the “arrangement” Kingie had and wanted to discuss it further. The King then asked how she knew, so she explained how she got it out of Peonie (getting info from Peonie is like get water out of a damp sponge, it seems). Now the explanation of knowledge is out of the way, we are on to the “discussion” that brought up a mere 3 panels ago. How can you see something missing here?

Here is how it has gone:
“I want to talk about X”
“How do you about X”
“From Y”
“Oh”
“Now, about X Cool how you rigged it, btw”

That is really how simple it is.
