Previously on exiern:
Magnolia doesn’t like cleaning up dropped glasses.
Now is it the King has poisoned a leading member of the clergy, or does he just assume that people are trying to kill him all the time?
To quote Terry Pratchett, when it comes to leaders, “when you are tired of checking your bed for scorpions, you are tired of life”.
Sure the King killed him but for what reason? I think that it was because of what he told Princess Peonie about Tiffany and upsetting her and he really wants Tiffany to continue changing along the way she’s changing to.
Dammit King, you really take being blunt about your evilness to a new level. Still, it’s endearing in it’s own way.
Hmm. Should I be worried that I thought ‘poisoned’ the instant the king pulled out a special bottle in his private study?
It’s good to be king.
I don’t think the priest was poisoned. I think it was a test to see if he was willing to drink it. Someone else probably sent the king that bottle and he somehow learned what was up with it. Now he’s trying to see who’s in on the plot.
But where is this kingdom, exactly ? To be sure to never going there.
Hey, not checking your drink for poison is just one of the many ways a king can commit suicide…
Hmm, poisoning was his intention when he said ‘discuss the other matter you came for’, if you remember there was something the two of them were talking about first, and the King was completely against it. Obviously as the man now knows things that he could use to leverage the situation (things about Tiffany’s curse) it was considered best to accelerate the original evil scheme to get rid of him.
But come on… were I ever sent to a place where political intrigue could get me killed as easily as a sword through the gut, then I would never drink wine in a private room with a politician that hadn’t already tasted. And even then I’d suspect that the King would have just been dosing himself with the antidote beforehand.
Damn but I’d make a paranoid statesman in a feudal realm… XD
Poisoned drinks ?
I guess it would be an aquired taste.
Note that in no frame does it show him actually drinking it.
Well you know just because it’s poisoned doesn’t mean it should go to waste.
You are all jumping to conclusions. If you look at the comic, he said was that he didn’t have a taste for “poi-soned” drinks; i.e. drinks from the fabled wine growing region of Poi-Son (a small region located between Ve-Nom and Toc-Sin).
And I suppose now would be a bad time for he king to mention that the buffet at the party was provided by Sam and Ella’s catering.
Like how he’s more worried about being yelled at by a maid then anything else.
I’m honestly amazed the king was stupid enough to tell the guy he was poisoned while he’s still active enough to kill the guy in retaliation. Unless it’s just a trick to give his guards a reason to kill him defending the king…
Good maids are hard to find.
The way this guy plays the game, why does anyone trust him at all?
Because he’s so honest about being what he is.
I really hate to be the voice of reason in this (so boring), but isn’t it possible that the King meant that he disliked being poisoned via drink, so stopped drinking most things, including, say, a bottle that is lying around in his quaters?
this drink might not be poisoned, but the next could.
I now look forward to the next page proving me wrong…
Next page proved you almost 100% right )
